Discount and a monthly imbalance — a weekly imbalance reaction

A random 1998 bar on McDonald's stock, weekly chart. The trend is up by the last two trading ranges, the correction is 30% of the last impulse. Liquidity is looked for on the monthly: monthly imbalances. Local liquidity was taken, the reaction from the monthly imbalance came as a weekly imbalance, and the level was defended in the discount. The target is the weekly range high. Point A 26.75, point B 37.47; the idea stands while price holds above point A. The indicator showed a strong order flow with two stars; the daily is noise, higher timeframes have priority. The outcome: the idea worked out, the target was reached.

IN THE METHODOLOGY

The order of the walkthrough

The working chart is weekly, liquidity is looked for on the monthly.

The trend is read from the two latest trading ranges: here it is up, and the correction is 30% of the last impulse.

Liquidity is looked for on the higher timeframe: monthly imbalances. Local liquidity was taken before the reaction, and the reaction from the monthly imbalance came as a weekly imbalance — the level was defended in the discount.

Three questions are asked before the entry: where price is — in the discount of the weekly range, what it interacts with — the monthly imbalance and the weekly imbalance, where it heads — to the weekly range high. The invalidation is named in advance: the idea stands while price holds above point A.

The indicator goes on after the manual markup. Here it showed a strong order flow with two stars; it didn't confirm point A yet, and the daily is noise: higher timeframes have priority.

The outcome: price reached point B — the idea worked out, the target was reached.
